About the DBA
The Downtown Bloomington Association (DBA) is a not-for-profit membership-based organization representing business and property owners, and residents to enhance the vitality and livability of Downtown Bloomington.
In March 2005, Downtown Bloomington Association was accepted into the Illinois Main Street Program, Office of then Lt. Governor Pat Quinn. This group provides technical assistance and in partnership with the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency, provides design assistance to the Downtown business and property owners.
The DBA receives financial support from private sponsors and contributing members, and the City of Bloomington.
District Boundaries - Most of the area inside U.S. 51 is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Downtown Bloomington’s boundaries: north - Locust, south - Oakland Ave, east - Gridley Street, west - Lee Street. The new U.S. Cellular Coliseum in the south and the rehabilitated Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts in the north anchor the district.
